Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

It’s Great for Everyone!

It’s that time of year again: the leaves are changing, pumpkin spice wafts from every coffee shop and kids (young and old) are frantic to find the best Halloween costume. Halloween, and all its spooky accessories, can sometimes be very overwhelming and frightening for little ones. They can’t tell the difference between a masked goblin and a real one.

What do you do with children who love to dress up, devour candy and scream when ghosts pop out at them? Take them to the happiest place on earth! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Celebration at Disney World would be a great fit!

Mickey's Boo-to You Halloween Parade
A spectacle of characters parades down Main Street, U.S.A in Mickey’s Boo-to You Halloween Parade during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom. The parade includes Disney characters in Halloween regalia and the ghostly inhabitants of The Haunted Mansion. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a special ticket event and takes place on select nights each fall at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. (Charlie Champagne, photographer)

While all of Disney World is decked out with Halloween decorations throughout the months of September and October, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is set on specific dates throughout the month. Those who have tickets to the Party will enjoy the Magic Kingdom and all the splendors if has to offer after dark.

Mickey’s Not-So Scary Halloween Party is not your average night at the Magic Kingdom. There’s Halloween themed parades twice a night, trick or treating for little ones dressed up in their costumes and an amazing light show on the Castle. If you love some theatrics, you’ll have to check out the Hocus Pocus Villian Spelltacular on the stage in front of the Castle. Then of course, you’ll want to stay until the fireworks show!

If you’re little ones absolutely adores a particular Disney character, you’ll want to check the schedule for Character Meet and Greets. There are several that happen during every party at different areas of the park.

Some things to keep in mind:

  • Disney does have some restrictions on costumes – even during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Be sure to review their costume policy prior to leaving for your trip! Check it out here.
  • Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party doesn’t happen during regular park hours, and you MUST have tickets (and a wristband) to stay in the park for the Party. You can learn more about tickets here.
  • The Party is not every night during September and October. It only occurs on certain days of the week or weekend. If you are purchasing tickets for the Party, you’ll want to coordinate the date with your vacation. You can see the schedule here.
